The last city in the 7th travelling series of CMS VATAVARAN will be Hyderabad. This year, the focus of the festival will be on Musi River. We are planning 5 days of film screenings, interactions, discussions, workshops, cleaning drive, etc across multiple venues. We will be engaging with state government officials, conservation experts, students, journalists and nature enthusiasts through our range of programmes.

Some of the issues that will be highlighted through curated discussions, eco tours and workshops are-

  • Degradation of the ecosystem in Hyderabad’s lakes
  • Wetland degradation
  • Water scarcity
  • Sewage disposal
  • Drinking water quality

One of the most important highlights of the festival will be the Green Ambassador Award which will be conferred upon an environmental activist for his/her contribution to the conservation of the water bodies in the region. Announcement on the call for nominations will be published on the website in few months.

These programmes are organized in partnership with stakeholders such as government departments, educational institutions, NGOs, corporations, multi-lateral & bi-lateral organizations, media houses, etc.

We invite you to partner for the 7th CMS VATAVARAN Musi River Festival which is scheduled to be held from January 18th to 22nd, 2017 in Hyderabad. Please contact Mr Sundeep C Srivastav (sundeep@cmsindia.org) for partnership related queries.
